Welcome to Edvard Grieg's composer home Troldhaugen. Edvard lived here with his wife Nina. Grieg is Norway's most famous and most important composer, and Troldhaugen is a place of pilgrimage for Grieg lovers from all over the world.

Fantoft stave church

The old stave church was built in Fortun in Sogn in 1170 and moved to Fantoft in 1883. Fantoft Stave Church has now been rebuilt as it was before it burnt down in 1992.

Explore Edvard Grieg's house

Troldhaugen today consists of the villa, the composer's cottage and the couple's burial place, as well as a modern museum building with a café and the Troldsalen concert hall. The area was opened as a museum in 1928. Troldhaugen is an attractive venue for some of Norway's foremost classical music performers, and several major Norwegian and international artists perform throughout the year in the Troldsalen chamber music hall. Over 300 concerts are organized annually in Troldsalen. The hall has room for 200 listeners and is known for its good acoustics for the performance of chamber music.

Fantoft stave church

The original Fantoft Stave Church was built around 1150 in Fortun, a small village about 183 miles northeast of Bergen. Like other stave churches with their characteristic soaring vertical design, its fully wooden construction was supported only by a foundation made of stones. The structure’s planks, columns, and supports were dovetailed or pegged together—no glue or nails necessary.

Gamlehaugen has a history that goes as far back as the Middle Ages, and the list of previous owners includes many of the wealthiest people in Bergen.

The tavern is located on historic grounds at Bryggen. The wharf in Bergen is known worldwide as one of UNESCO's World Heritage Sites, the centre of historical Bergen and a must see for any visitor.

As you arrive, you will meet your hosts at the farm, who will guide you on your visit and you will be served lunch from local produce. After lunch, it's time to get up higher and you will be guided to one of the best views there is in the Bergen region. Enjoy and make sure you have enough batteries on your phone, for those magical moment pictures.

On your way in you will see great views of the Bergen city fjord and several historic sites along the seafront.

Take the cable car up to the top of Bergen and enjoy a fantastic views and wonderful landscape in true high mountain nature. Treat yourself to a unique dining experience at Skyskraperen Restaurant or explore the fantastic hiking opportunities Ulriken offers. At the top of Ulriken there are activities, a restaurant, a Ulriken café and an incredible view!
